Apartment Sabu is in the heart of the French Alps; nestled in the beautiful valley of Vallouise, with its alpine meadows and medieval villages.

It sits in a peaceful location, overlooking tranquil orchards and breathtaking mountains.

Built in a traditional style using local larch wood, Apartment Sabu offers spacious accommodation for up to 6 people.

It is fully equipped to luxurious standards with large south-facing balconies.

Explore the abundance of activities available all year round. Walk through flower filled meadows to mountain restaurants. Go trekking, skiing, paragliding, biking, rock and ice climbing.

Then return to snuggle up in front of a roaring log fire or simply sit on one of the balconies listening to the crickets while enjoying a chilled glass of wine as the Provençal sun goes down.

Facilities at Apartment Sabu

Apartment Sabu has a very peaceful and private feel. It has a fully fitted kitchen, a very comfortable living room and is beautifully and thoughtfully furnished. The emphasis is on relaxing!!

Apartment Sabu has a washing machine and ski locker to cater for all of your outdoor equipment. It is the perfect base for families, with high chairs and a baby bath available. Other facilities include:

• Entrance hall with cupboard to store your outer layers
• One twin/double bedroom with built in cupboards.
• Coin montagne bunk room with standard size single bunk beds.
• Shower room and separate WC.
• Wood burning stove in living room.
• Double doors onto large south facing balcony
• Stairs up to second floor leading to large double bedroom with open plan bathroom and large, private south facing balcony.

The Neighbourhood

Apartment Sabu is just a five minute walk from the village centre. It is surrounded by the majestic mountains of the Ecrins Massif National Park, alpine meadows and picturesque orchards. There is an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity. Nobody hurries, time is spent taking in the beautiful surroundings – all on the doorstep of Apartment Sabu.

Vallouise is equipped with plenty of shops so you can do everything from the breakfast croissant run, renting skis to trying out the local “Alphand” beer in one of the bars! Vallouise also has a lovely market on Thursdays (all year round).

The Views

Its elevated position gives the apartment stunning views. The valley stretches out from Apartment Sabu offering wonderful views of famous alpine mountains, huge larch and ever green forests and internationally renowned ski resorts.

Places to visit

Whether your interest is history or adventure, wildlife or architecture, alpine flowers or high mountain peaks, skiing or trekking, local markets or white water rapids, rock climbing or ice climbing, there is so much to do in this area, all virtually on the doorstep.

Take a ten minute drive from the apartment and you reach the enchanting hamlet of Ailefroid, where the rock climbing is fantastic. That said, one of the most pleasurable things to do is lay out the picnic (of baguettes, local sausage, cheese and wine) in the meadows, watch the eagles soaring overhead and the marmots playing on the boulders whilst soaking up the Provençal sun! Failing that, a traditional lunch on the sun terrace of the Madam du Pré Chalet is just as pleasant (just don’t forget your sun block!).
